I know that she was married once before. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Smith and she married first a Cook. I don't know much about Mark other than what I have found in the census and secondary documentations. Elizabeth's father was Philip (PJ) Smith. Another of P.J. Smith's daughters, Margaret C., married Jacob Southerland in Benton Co., AL and then to George Washington Gay, SR. Another of Philip's daughers, Lucinda J. Smith, apparently did not marry and is documented in the Southerland Bible. I'm sorry that I can't help any further. I know that one of Mark's sons, William F. Pitts is buried in Mt. Zion, Georgia along with his family. The Adolphus that this thread relates to went by several names; one being Matthew. Matthew's wife and a daughter are buried at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church (Peek Creak) in Cleburne Co., AL. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
