The Higdons and Pitts have intermarried several times through the years. I was in Laurens County Ga. this spring and there is still a large family of Pitts there. I believe all Pitts families that have been in Mississippi since before the Civil War are most likely descended from Aaron Pitts in one way or another. My own g-g-grandmother Permelia Pitts was a daughter of Wesley Pitts, one of the sons of Aaron Pitts. She married Bud Higdon. They were the g-grandparents of Frank and Dean Higdon. Dean is Jeffs father. Most of the older Copiah County families are related to the Pitts in some way.(Wheeler, Lowe, Purser,Sumrall, Rea, Herrington etc.) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
