I descend from John Pitts, Sr., who arrived in Windham Co., CT, by 1711. He married Susannah Preston and lived in Ashford, Windham Co., CT. I descend from their son John Pitts, Jr., born 25 Aug 1733 in Ashford. On Jan 10, 1754, John Pitts, Jr., married Rachel Humphrey, daughter of John Humphrey and Hannah Russell. John and Rachel (Humphrey) Pitts lived in Ashford until c. 1799 when they moved to Monson, Hampshire Co., MA. I found them there on the 1800 census, but can't find them after that. Both would be about 67 years old in 1800. Does anyone have death dates and places for John Pitts, Jr., and his wife Rachel Humphrey Pitts? Did they die in Hampshire Co., MA, between 1800-1810? Or did they go to Rutland Co., VT, with their son Jeremiah Pitts (1810 Rutland Co., VT, census). Or did they go to Orange Co., VT, with their married daughter Silome Pitts Greenslit?
