The picture was among the effects of a grand aunt of mine (Gussie Lea Pruitt) who was born there in Shelby county in 1888, and came here to Trinity county, Texas with her mother and siblings abt. 1895. Her mother, Ann Pruitt, b 1858, Alabama, may have worked in the Pitts household in some capacity. Any way, it appears the families were acquainted.
