Pitts. She was born in Feb, 1859 in Missouri and died in 1917 in Okemah, OK. She married John Weeden Major June 22nd, 1870 in Grayson County, TX. She had a son named Elmore Earl (my grandfather), a son named John, (I believe) a daughter named Cora Frances, and I think a couple of other sons named Clyde and Hilry. I believe her parents might have been Samuel Pitts and Elizabeth Duncan. I know there is a strong Cherokee connection somewhere in her history, if fact I was told somewhere not far before her was an ancestor that was full Cherokee and included on the Dawes Roll.
