DNA will match the N.C. Pitts group with the Missouri Pitts groups in Hickory and Carroll Counties if any are in DNA projects. Yes, both are related to the Mimms and was proven in the Pitts Vol. 1 and continued in Vol 2 books. In saying that - so was Frank & Jesse James related to the Mimms through Genealogy done at the James Farm in Clay Co., MO. Since I helped write the 3rd volume of the Missouri Pitts, I can tell you Charlie Pitts comes from the group that is in Hickory Co., MO. You WILL NOT find him in any of the 3 volumes of history though because the older generation was ashamed of him and his dealings. As for the James Gang - YOU ALL NEED TO GET A BIGGER SCOPE OF WHO PEOPLE KNEW BACK THEN ((BECAUSE FRANK AND JESSE LOOKED UP THEIR FAMILY RELATIVES WHERE EVER THEY WENT INCLUDING THE PITTS LINES IN BOTH MISSOURI COUNTIES))!
