Michele, The question you're responding to was posted to the PITTS message board, and it was a reply to two other message board postings that said where Ralston Pitts lived (Arizona). When you see a posting come to the PITTS-L list via the gateway from the PITTS message board, it's probably a good idea to go to the board itself to get the back story behind the posting. Notice the words that are always automatically appended to the end of any message coming from the gateway: "The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board." Drew Smith PITTS-L List Administrator. Author: vhs1968 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.pitts/1211.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I grew up in Wausau and Aunt Laura Pitts is one of those people who is first in my memories. Uncle Billy as I heard him referred to was long deceased before I knew anything about the family. Besides those you name there were at least two more sons and another daughter. The first son died early in life. Uncle Billy, Aunt Laura, and the son are buried at Wausau Memorial Gardens. Uncle Billy and the son were moved there. I think they might have been interred originally at Barfield Cemetery before the Wausau Cemetery was opened. Phoebe Pitts was a Notary Public in the Wausau area and married my Dad and Mom on August 18, 1940. She was still living when they renewed their vows in 1990. Dad has since gone to be with the Lord. Royace and Henry Pitts were the two sons I knew. Royace retired as the District Design Engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation Third District. Henry retired from DOT after a career in law enforcement. Henry's son Travis served three t! erms as Clerk of Courts in Washington County. Growing up Aunt Laura was very active in our church and baked the best homemade pounds cakes you ever saw. She was credited with being able to cure "thrash" in babies. She lived next door to the Little League Baseball Field where I played and had a pear tree near the field that all the boys loved to raid. She was indeed someone who made my life better and my memories sweeter. Roger Hagan Mayor, Wausau Florida Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello, The other day I unexpectedly had some time to kill at a wonderful place called The Library Center in Springfield, Missouri. Since I was not prepared to do anything specific -and- since my Daddy's families were in Springfield, Robertson Co, TN..... I perused part of a book called, "Cemetery Records of Robertson County, Tennessee", which was compiled by Mrs Charles W Durrett and Mrs Richard A Williams. Please don't take these years as proof-positive. I was very sleepy when I wrote this information. But, on the other hand, if you have been searching for any of these particular PITTs, it will give you a place to begin. Also please note, that I did not make it through all 3 volumes within this book. Here are the names and years on the PITTs, whom I found listed: Boyd M PITT (1870-1937) Patrick H PITT (1858-1924) Mary A Porter PITT (1865-1912) (w/o Patrick) A Moore PITT (1875-1913) Milton PITT (1840-1917) Ellen Gilbert PITT (1845-1924) (w/o Milton) Mary PITT (1842-1926) William J PITT (1839-1925) Frances E PITT (1847-1914) John N PITT (1847-1924) Sallie F PITT (1864-1931) Thomas (Doc) PITT (1867-1937) F M PITT (1854-1928) William PITT (b 1891) J Thomas PITT (1877-1956) Lottie Powell PITT (1881-1973) J T PITT, jr (1913-1920) Catherine Bell PITT (1916-1918) Sarah L PITT (1881-1906) ~Les~

She found a picture of a tombstone for Raymond C Pitts 01 Jun 1945-19 Mar 1998. It's a double tombstone with Teresa D Pitts b 19 May 1948, no death date. I didn't take the picture and I don't recognize the cemetery. It's possible it was in something she bought at a garage sale. In that case, the location is probably somewhere around Hattiesburg MS. Can anyone identify Raymond? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
