I am researching this same Pitts line you wrote about. Essex Co., VA Younger Pitts and of Scott Co., KY. This Younger Pitts line matched our DNA in the the Pitts DNA study http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/pitts/. My specific Pitts line comes from Chatham Co., NC and we suspect Essex Co., VA as his wife was from Essex Co. We have been unable to figure out exactly how are two Pitts lines connect though. William Younger was one of the Port Royal, Virginia Merchants, along with George Pitts. Younger Pitts became a Baptist Minister in Essex County. He married Susannah Elliott born 1738 in Essex Co.,dau. of Caleb Elliott (c.1714-1789)& Margaret Boulware (c. 1725-1800). They had seven children, the eldest named Younger Pitts who also became a minister(1758-1822)born in Virginia, died in Scott County Kentucky.
