[I presume her to be the widow of Henry de Renzy PIGOTT, so formerly DOYNE.] Henry Philip B. PIGOTT, died 18 Mar 1951, aged 90. Augustus C.D. PIGOTT, died 9 Nov 1944, aged 82. Tyringham Vere PIGOTT, died 14 Feb 1937, aged 74. Fanny Beatrice D. PIGOTT, died 14 Feb 1912, aged 47. [Undoubtedly issue of Henry de Renzy PIGOTT & Frances Catherine DOYNE.] The 1901 Canada Census has the following family enumerated at Village of Morden, District #7 Lisgar, Manitoba: Archibald BOWEN, Head, b England, 1 Jul 1861, arr Canada, 1880; Barrister. Gertrude BOWEN, Wife, b Ireland, 11 Feb 1871, arr 1880. Augustus PIGOTT, Brother-in-law, b Ireland, 1 Jan 1863, Bailiff, arr 1880. Florence PIGOTT, Sister-in-law, b Ireland, 24 Mar 1872, arr 1880. Gladys PIGOTT, Niece, b Manitoba, 29 Oct 1894. Henry PIGOTT, Nephew, b Manitoba, 25 Jun 1897. Anna BUCHANAN, Mother-in-law, b Ireland 13 Nov 1842; arr Canada 186 (sic - perhaps 1861?) Alexander BUCHANAN, Mother-in-law's son, b India, 1890 (sic - probably wrong). John BUCHANAN, ditto, b Ireland, 1873. Gertrude BOWEN & Florence PIGOTT were, I presume, daughters of Anna BUCHANAN; but if so, why did Archibald not refer to the BUCHANAN sons as Brothers-in-law? Perhaps they were only half-brothers to Gertrude, who may therefor not have been born a BUCHANAN. The nephew was undoubtedly the Henry Alexander Doyne PIGOTT, Private, Machine Gun Corps, who died 14 Nov 1917, aged 19, Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Augustus had a brother Mowbray PIGOTT. He was enumerated in the 1930 U.S. Federal Census, at Precinct 2, Modesto Township, Stanislaus County, California: Mowbray PIGOTT, Head, 60, Marr at age 30, b England, father b North Ireland, mother b England, Occupation Office Manager Receiving Coy. Rosamund H. PIGOTT, Wife, 56, Marr at age 26, b England; both parents b England. Their deaths are recorded in the California Death Index: Mowbray C. PIGOTT, b England, 18 Sep 1868; died Santa Clara, 19 May 1960. Rosamond N. PIGOTT, b England, 17 Oct 1872; died Santa Clara, 8 Aug 1952. And in passing, there was another Mowbray C. PIGOTT, noted in the U.S. Social Security Index, b 23 Aug 1934, & died Willow, Matanuska, Susitna Co, Alaska, 25 Sep 2002. Clearly too late for a child of Florence, who would have been over 60 in 1934. Perhaps a grandson by a son who had already moved away from home by 1930.
