PIGOTT served as a Lieut., THORNEYCROFT's Mounted Infantry, Boer War, & died at Sanderton Hospital, 12 Nov 1900, of Enteric Fever & Pleurisy, aged 22. [M.I., Thornicraft's - where his father was recorded as Major J.C.M. PIGOTT, late Royal Berkshires, & described elsewhere as Reserve of Officers, Berkshire Regt, at one time D.A.A. & Q.M.G., Southern District.] Q.M.G. was probabaly Quarter-Master General; I am not familiar with D.A.A. One of your 2003 Listers, Gordon BARLOW, I think from the West Indies, recorded the father as Henry Charles Matthew PIGOTT, a son of Lt-Col PIGOTT of Heavitree near Exeter. Regards, Chris PIGOTT.
