Granado PIGOTT, b 1765; Lieut, 3rd Dragoon Guards (The Prince of Wales' Regiment), 21 Jan 1784; Capt, same Regt, 6 Jun 1788; fought in Holland; during battle on the Catteau Heights, covering the retreat of the Duke of York, he was mortally wounded, carried from the field of battle by George Edward GRAHAM (see below), & died, 29 May 1794; it appears that he requested GRAHAM to return his belongings to his sister [GRAHAM web-page]; it is also suggested that his brother-in-law, William FOSTER, was Chaplain of the same Regt (it seems that FOSTER, if present at Catteau Heights, would have been the more logical choice to return his brother-in-law's personal effects).
