Joe, Another note I had intended to add at the beginning of these postings was to acknowledge the numerous PIGOTT pedigrees, not all, it would seem, entirely accurate, published by LISCOMBE in his "History of Buckinghamshire." I do not have the full citation for that publication in front of me, but can get it if needed. But, to continue: [F] PIGOTT OF COLEWICK, MARCHAM & HATFORD. Robert PIGOTT, 2nd son of Thomas PIGOTT, Serjeant-at-Law by his 2nd wife Elizabeth IWARDBY (see earlier posting); of Colewick; adm Inner Temple, 1537; died 1587, & bur in Waddesdon Church (Memorial Brass, not in good condition); marr Mary YATE (daur of John YATE, of Lylford, Merchant of the Staple of Calais, by his 2nd wife Alice HYDE); she died 1555, possibly in childbirth, & bur Waddesdon Church; issue: 1. Katherine PIGOTT, bt 26 Apr 1542 (godmothers were her aunts PIGOTT & HANDEN). 2. Mary PIGOTT, bt 27 Jun 1544. 3. Elizabeth PIGOTT, bt 9 Aug 1545; marr Walter HENLEY of Co Sussex, Milites. 4. [J] Alban PIGOTT, b 1579; matric Oriel College, Oxon, 23 Jul 1596; adm Middle Temple, 20 Aug 1597; in his 3 years at Temple, he was, with others, fined 20s. for "cutting" lectures, being "out of Commons at Christmas" & missing "Mr GYBBE's readings during Lent"; Inner Temple Barrister, 1598; accepted his 1st articled pupil, 1601, & took in his brother Thomas, Feb 1608, & his own son Francis, Oct 1633; called to the "Utter" Bar, 7 Jun 1605; appointed, with several others, 1616, to "provide the Reader's Feast"; fined 10 pounds for "not reading"; engaged in a quarrel with a Mr WHITE in the hall, which resulted in "...swords being drawn & a blow struck standing at the fire"; & subsequently threatened with dismissal at the next Temple Parliament for failing to attend disciplinary proceedings before one of the Masters of the Bench; allocated new chambers on the 3rd floor of Pump Court, West side, 1629; these he gave to his son Francis in Apr 1642, but then reclaimed them from Mr KI! NG in Oct 1647, & again granted them, in Oct 1469, this time to his son-in-law Balthazar BEARE; described, on his son's admission, as "...one of the most ancient Masters of the Utter Bar"; buried 4 Oct 1648, in the middle aisle, Temple Church, London; marr St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, 29 Sep 1608, Martha WOOLLEY (daur & coheir of Randolphe WOOLLEY of London, Merchant & Gent), receiving the sub-manor of Colewick near Waddesdon from his father as a present; issue: 1.
