Jen, this might be of interest to you .. Chris Pigott wrote (2003): I note your interest in the PIGOTT/PIGGOTTs of Hadenham. I have some notes that might be of interest. Mary Ann PIGOTT, daur of Granado PIGOTT of Hadenham, Tradesman, marr at Haddenham, 31 Dec 1839, Richard BURKITT, Labourer, witnessed Lorenzo & Susanna PIGOTT. Granado PIGOTT, Tradesman, had issue by wife Ann, who was bur at Hadenham, 18 Nov 1803: Edward PIGOTT, bt 26 Mar 1796. Mary, bt 7 Jan 1799. Granado PIGOTT (possibly the same) had (poss further) issue in Haddenham by Margaret ELLIS (perhaps a 2nd wife): Charles PIGOTT, bt 31 Aug 1807. Granado PIGOTT, Schoolmaster in Hadenham, marr Hadenham, 1815, Sarah HENRY, & had issue: Granado PIGOTT, bt Gt Hormead, Herts (poss Sarah's mother's parish), 28 May 1815. Lorenzo, bt Ely Isle, 18 Jan 1818. Susannah, bt Bourne, Cambs, 23 Jan 1820; went to N.Z.; marr Wellington, 17 Mar 1847, Benjamin Mendez PERIERA, late of Marseilles, Storekeper in Wellington (text of marr registration suggests her father "Granado PIGOTT of Hadenham, Isle of Ely" was still living. Harriet, bt Bourne, 26 Dec 1821; bur there 26 Jun 1822. It looks like Lorenzo b 1818 & Susannah b 1820 were the witnesses to Mary Ann's 1839 marriage. I have no idea how Susannah came to be in N.Z., nor whether she went there alone or with others of the family. Does this make sense? Regards, Chris PIGOTT (Sydney, N.S.W.)
