Joe, John PIGOTT of Beveres, Parish of Claines, Co Worcester, was from Capard, Queen's Co, Ireland. He quit Ireland in disgust during the troubles in 1798, vowing never to return, after his officious discharge of his Magisterial duties brought threats, & actual damage to his estate at Capard, including the setting fire to new & older plantings for which he had been awarded Premiums by the Dublin Society. He retained his estates in Ireland, which were eventually inherited by his son John. You have notes on him & his descent & ancestry in an earlier posting to the List, some time ago.
