Obituary May 1943-- Jersey Democrat, Jersey County, Illinois Mrs. Katie I. Angel, one of the older residents of the Dow vicinity, died at her home Thursday evening, May 14th, at ten-forty o'clock follwoing a period of failing health. Mrs. Angel was the daughter of the late J.A. and Susan Snyder Piggott, and was born in Elsah, April 2, 1871. Her age at the time of her demise was seventy two years, one month and eleven days. The deceased is survived by three sons, Lawrence T. Angel of Alton, James Angel and Harrison Taylor of Dow; two step sons Louis Angel of Alton and Edward Angel of Kankakee; one stepdaughter, Mrs. A.D. Patton of Medora; one brother, Luther Piggott of Grafton; ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Mrs Angel was a member of the Royal neighbors Lodge. Funeral services were held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Neewburn, Sunday, May 16, at two-thirty o'clock. The Reverend Kermit Jeffery of Atlon officiated and interment was in the Newburn Cemetery.
