    3. Joe, Probably a very long shot, but there was a Chetwynd Montagu de Renzy PIGOTT who lived in Akron, Ohio in the 1930s, working as Sales Manager with B.F. Goodrich & Coy, the rubber tyre people, & doing business abroad. He went into the State Department after Pearl Harbour (1942), & ended up as U.S. Consul-General in Frankfurt. He was born St Paul, Minnesota, 1902, elder son of Mowbray Chetwynd PIGOTT (b Bucks, England, 1868, went eventually to California & grew apricots) by Rosamund Nightingale CHARLES. He was sib to Josephine PIGOTT (Mrs HOFFMANN of California), & Bernard PIGOTT (no further particulars). His aunts & uncles lived mostly in Canada - Henry Philip Bernard PIGOTT (went to California, unmarr), Augustus Charles Doyne PIGOTT (marr with issue; lived B.C.), Tyringham Vere PIGOTT (B.C., unmarr), Frances Margaret de Renzy PIGOTT, Harold Chetwynd PIGOTT, & Harriett Octavia Violet PIGOTT (marr, but to whom ?). They were issue of Maj-General Henry de Renzy PIGOTT, originally from Loughrea, Co Galway (he went to Manitoba about 1882), by Frances Catherine DOYNE (died British Columbia). Henry probably had 2nd cousins named CURTIS, originally from Duleek, Co Mayo, Ireland. P.S. - The Australian War Memorial has commenced posting scans of Unit Diaries on-line, but have done only several, & have not started at the beginning, for some unexplained reason. So 15th Bn is not there yet. The site is <www.awm.gov.au>, follow links to On-line Resources, Unit Diaries, Infantry Battalions, etc. Regards, Chris PIGOTT, Potts Point, N.S.W.
