Hi List, You have surely noticed that I am a strong advocate of the Lost Cousins project and web site. Here is what happened yesterday. I was having an e-mail exchange with my cousin Gillian PIGGOTT when we realized that I had not yet entered her maternal English ancestors on Lost Cousins. We worked together and I found the information on the 1881 UK census. We found her maternal GGF and six children in 1881, and I entered them to my LC database. After entering the data, I clicked the SEARCH button, and immediately received notification that I had seven new matches. I sent an e-mail (connections are totally private until both parties agree to communicate) to my new "Lost Cousin", who responded over night. Together now, we three will explore and exchange information as appropriate. I can not over emphasize the value of posting your information on Lost Cousins. If you have not yet done so, you may be missing out on that "key" connection that will help you break through your family "brick wall". I don't understand why more folks have not joined the Lost Cousins project. Basic membership is FREE :-) "Basic membership of LostCousins is free, and will remain so indefinitely provided that we can continue to grow through word of mouth recommendations. Not paying for advertising keeps our costs low, and enables us to offer free basic membership." The "key" contact for breaking through my PIGGOTT brick wall is out there "somewhere". For that "someone", the answer to MY problem is possibly common knowledge. Traditional methods for finding that information have failed me for two decades. Lost Cousins offers a whole new vista of potential contacts. If you have already posted your information to Lost Cousins, I would greatly appreciate a PRIVATE e-mail so that we can perhaps exchange ideas and information associated with that concept.
