Hi List, I am a newly joined member to your list and am posting this info in the hopes of making any connections to any and all Pigott's of this branch. I am hoping to trace the line further and also to find out where in Ireland these may originate from. I have two leads (discussed at end) for Michael's father...perhaps Thomas or perhaps Maurice. I do have more info on the further living descendants. I also may some pictures starting with generation two. Thanks, Marty Porter GENERATION ONE *Michael Pigott Born circa 1822-1828, Ireland. d. COMMENTS: Am working on two leads Michael's (generation one) parents: Any help would be greatly appreciated! 1--If we believe the death record from Tewksbury to be the correct one, then the parents of Michael would then be: Thomas PIGOTT b. Ireland. Married to Mary _________. More about Mary _______: Unconfirmed possibilities: In the 1850 Census for Boston, MA there is a Mary Pigott that shows up: Name Home in 1850 (City,County,State) Estimated birth year Birth Place Mary Picket Boston Ward 8, Suffolk, MA abt 1790 Ir Jane Picket Boston Ward 8, Suffolk, MA abt 1825 Ir Michael Picket Boston Ward 8, Suffolk, MA abt 1828 Ir Could it be that Mary emigrated with her daughter and son Jane and Michael to Boston after the death of Thomas in Ireland??? 2--In the Boston Ward 8, Suffolk 1870 Census living two doors (or two lines on Census) down from Michael is Maurice Pickett Boston Ward 8, Suffolk, MA abt 1808 Ireland White Male Could this be an older relative of Michael, perhaps an uncle or a father?
Hi Marty, Thank you so much for posting your comprehensive summary of your PIGOTT line. Are you a member of the NEHGS? Your research is advanced, and you now need answers to more difficult questions. My "guess" is that as a member, there will be research databases available that are not available to the general public. I would also guess that there are experienced members who might take up the challenge of researching records from the immediate area of your possible ancestors. In any event, we are happy to have you as a member. Hopefully Chris PIGOTT will have some information in his massive record collection that could help you move backward in time in Ireland.
