Hi List, Extracted from another list: Source: CAN-BC-OBITS@rootsweb.com Subject: [CAN-BC-OBITS] Victoria Times-Colonist; November 23, 2007 Victoria Times-Colonist; Friday, November 23, 2007 Obituaries and Guest Books for 11/23/2007 PIGOT, Henry James Harry" June 16, 1919 November 8, 2007 Suddenly but peacefully and in his own way on the evening of Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the age of 88 years; beloved husband of Kay for 58 years and father of Doug and Nancy, Gord and Pat, and Stu and Joni; much-loved Grandpa and Papa of Kathy, Bryan, Michael, Hannah Jane, Darren, Harry, Ryan and Lindsay; great grandfather of Mikayla and Alexandria; cherished brother of Herb, Eila, Joe and Dorie and uncle of Heather, Arlene, Paddy, Les, Andy, Bob and Kathy. Harry was the eldest child and first son of Harry and Annie Pigot born on June 16, 1919 at Work Point Barracks in Victoria. A proud second generation Victorian he grew up on Bay Street attending Oakland's Elementary and Victoria High School. Active in sports, an avid golfer throughout his life and a fine musician Harry was a member of the 5th Field Regiment R.C.A. reserve at the outbreak of WWII. He was called up in September 1939 and served at Fort Rod Hill, Aldershot, England and in Italy, Belgium, Holland and Germany before returning to Victoria in early 1946. He was employed by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1947 retiring in 1984 after a 37-year career. Harry was a resident of Cadboro Bay and a sentinel of Camelot Road since 1955. Harry was a good man, strong in mind, body and character who approached all things in his life with force of purpose and a positive attitude. We who knew him were blessed by his good humour, his love and his generous spirit. He gave us all more than he took back. Harry, we are proud of the man you were and of the things you taught us. Know that you are loved and cherished always. Cremation and a family service will take place at a later date.
