Each father passes distinct genetic material to his children. Sons pass their Father's genetic code to their sons and daughters. For at least a generation, the father's genetic code can be detected in their daughter. Daughters have some of their father's genetic material, but their mother's DNA is passed to their daughters, and to their daughters. BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px; } Parenthood can be detected by examining a child's DNA Code and comparing it to the so called or suspected parents. Mutations do take place over time however. Queen Victoria's daughter? married the Zar of Russia, Romanoff. The Duke of Edinburgh is a descendant of a daughter of Queen Victoria, who married a Greek Noble, and it is this Duke of Edinburgh's DNA which was used to determine if the bodies found buried in Russia were the deceased or murdered Romanoffs. The bodies or bones were found to be of descent from Queen Victoria. This is a ? simple rendition to say that all humans are descended from their ancestors and have the same or similar genetic Codes in their bodies, saliva, etc. Adopted children do not have the same DNA as their adopted parents. DNA of genetic code is passed from parent to child, but it was the discovery of this DNA or genetic code which made it possible to detect who were the ancestors. Some sons may have thought their father who brought them up was their father, but maybe the mother had another fly by night lover, and she married someone else to actually bring up their child, as the real father for some reason was not around to do so. My father has the same 12 code as thousands or millions of others, but so far only one has the same last name so is a direct relative of some more recent relationship with the same father. Anyone else want to tackle this? Maybe Google for Information on DNA. D N A is a fairly recent discovery so how can you know that you are on the same or similar numbers as your ancestors from say the early 18 th century. D N A info was certainly not available then.
