    3. I have read that DNA from a female child can be traced back to her paternal and her maternal side, if she has the DNA from both her mother and father. This is how paternity suits are solved. Check out the paternity DNA tests on the baby girl, of that blond star, who died of a drug overdose in the Carribeaan, leaving a baby girl. Two men had their DNA tested, and the blond man was the actual father. The man she was living with lost the paternity suit. A lot of money was inherited by the baby girl from her mother, which would help the blond man look after the daughter. The list is slow these days. I would be happy if you would post a short bit on the value you are finding in having DNA data available, and the differences between paternal and maternal DNA research. For example, I am a PIGGOTT descendent from my mother. I'm wondering if I can "really" find out anything that will assist my quest for my ancestors. From what I understand so far, the information gleaned is extremely broad. As an example, there are two main BISSET(T) groups in North America. Those with Scot/Irish heritage via Canada and the Colonies, and those with French roots coming to North America via the Channel Islands. How specific would a paternal DNA test get in telling me anything about either line? I know now which I am, but perhaps for others?? Thanks, Joe
