Hi Joe, I've been lurking for quite some time so thought it was about time I posted to the list. I'm looking for information on Piggotts in Cottenham, Cambs, UK. My great grandfather was Christopher William Piggott, born in Cottenham 1864 and married to Caroline Moore. His Father was Joseph Piggott, who appears to have been born in Cottenham (1837). Interestingly he moved to Finsbury, London and then later to Toxteth Park in Liverpool. I would love to be able find any information regarding his moves to London and Liverpool especially as Christopher remained in Cottenham as an apprentice. Both Joseph and Christopher were carpenter/joiners. Joseph parents were, I believe, Christopher Piggott and Judith Rayment. I have seen further information that alludes to Christopher marrying for a second time, possibly to a Rebecca, also from Cottenham but unfortunately it's been a while since I looked at those notes so I don't know where I found that info. Although I'm not related to the Ely Piggotts, as someone living in the Ely area the information provided by Nick Rule and Dave Blyth has been a very interesting read, so thanks for that.
