Edward Henry Piggott born 1873 had a grandchild who was in the RCAMC during the war and married a Heglund, Norwegian officer. Joe, General PIGGOTT of Bunker's Hill was Robert PIGOT, born 1720, son of Richard PIGOT of Hodnet & Westminster, by his spouse Frances COOKE (or GOODE?), Tyre woman to Queen Caroline. He was Captain, 31st Regt of Foot, 1751; Major, 70th Foot, 1758; & served at Bunker's Hill, whence he was made Lt-Col of his Regiment & a Major-General in the Army. He succeeded his brother as the 2nd Baronet of Patshull, & died at his seat at Patshull in 1796. He married, in Dublin, Ann JOHNSON, & had issue - a daur Ann; & 3 sons, George, a Major-General in the Army; Hugh, a Captain in the Royal Navy; & Robert, Lt-Col of the 30th Regt. I am fairly certain that I posted details of his family & descent on your List some time ago, under title PIGOT of Hodnet, or similar. Regards, Chris.

Hi List, In the past I have championed posting one's information on the Lost Cousins web site, and have explained why I believe that Lost Cousins has a unique methodology, virtually assuring that any contact will be a true cousin. I have also told you that I have posted 267 entries, and have so far been in touch with 6 cousins. He spent some time in North America in the 1970s, then with W.H.O. in Kathmandu, Geneva & Cambodia before retiring & returning to Australia several years ago. Leslie SIMMS is native to Toronto. Hi Marty, Thank you so much for posting your comprehensive summary of your PIGOTT line. Are you a member of the NEHGS? Your research is advanced, and you now need answers to more difficult questions. My "guess" is that as a member, there will be research databases available that are not available to the general public. I would also guess that there are experienced members who might take up the challenge of researching records from the immediate area of your possible ancestors.
