    1. [PIERCE-L] George William KEY & Ellen PEARCE KEY
    2. Thanks to two very helpful Commonwealth War Graves Commission searchers, I was able to get the following invaluable information about George William KEY: "GEORGE WILLIAM KEY, Bombardier, 951402, "A" Bty. 15th Bde., Royal Field Artillery, who died on Sunday, 14th October 1917. Age 40. Additional Information: Husband of Ellen Key, of 174, High St., Slough, Bucks. Commemorative Information: Cemetery: MENIN ROAD SOUTH MILITARY CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, Grave Reference/Panel Number: III. L. 15. His residence address was Coulsdon, Surrey. He enlisted at Kennington, Surrey" While the information appears clear, I could still use some help/clarification. Specific questions are noted below. 1. George William appears about ten years younger (30) in a picture that I have of him taken abt 1916. Also, based on the record "40" years, that puts him at 32 years old when he have his first daughter Marjorie in 1909, and 37 at the birth of his second. Does that seem "old" for the time... How much should I rely on the age noted in the record above? Has anyone had any experience with the reliability of this type of information? 2. Regarding the Coulsdon and Slough addresses -- Should I assume that the Slough address was the address of Ellen PEARCE KEY at the time of George's death and that they lived in Coulsdon when he enlisted? 3. George's father is said by family to be buried in Hanwell. Is there an on-line search option to verify that and obtain additional critical information? As a next step, I plan on going to the LDS center in Virginia for more details.... Any search advice or KEY / PEARCE information that anyone has would be appreciated! Regards from Dave in Virginia. Researching PEARCE, KEY, ELLIS and AXE in the London, Middlesex, Surrey and Bucks area....
