I have one known and one suspected Indiana Pierce ancestor. The known one was Andrew, born abt 1790/1800 unknown. Per Johnson Co, In history he walked to Johnson Co from Pittsburg about 1820. He married in 1825 in Johnson Co to an Elizabeth Graves (who per family legend was the Deleware Indiana guide that lead him there). He died and left a Will in Hendricks County, In by May 1833 which named his widow and children. Matilda was his daughter and my gg grandmother. The suspected Pierce is the Wife and Widow of Benjamin Bailey. Benjamin Bailey married Anna Pierce May 13, 1803 in Wilkes Co, NC and then moved to Adair Co, KY where he died in 1819. Anna and her children then moved to Morgan Co, In along with several interrated families. Morgan, Johnson and Hendricks are all adjacent. She is suspected since I have never proven that my Anna Bailey was Anna Pierce. Eventually Matilda (after her first husband died) married Allison Bailey (son of Anna and Benjamine) afer his first wife died. Allison and family moved to Crawford Co, Il about 1860 and lived near Pierceburg, Il. Does this ring any bells out there?
