I am still looking for a Charles PIERCE born 1845 NC his father is James PIERCE born around 1820-guessing, NC. After Charles served in the Civil War, he and his father moved to Texas, East Texas, Redland Community, Wood County TX. This is questionable because the 1860 Wood Co census lists a James PIERCE m to a Louissa, children including a Benjamin Franklin. Any siblings at this point are unknown to Charles or to James. Charles married a Mary Elizabeth LONG, life time resident of Wood Co and they had four sons, one being a James Monroe or as some now say McCall PIERCE, Thomas, Pete, and Jesse. James m Alma BLAYLOCK, daughter of Benjamin Franklin or Frankland BLAYLOCK and Martha Jane GLENN. Any information on the PIERCE which you think might be helpful, please respond!!
