My oldest PIERCE is Joseph PIERCE,b. about 1820 in England, married Sarah DOBSON b. about 1838 in Ohio. They had 8 children. In the 1880 census they are in Todds Point Township, Shelby Co., Ill. Joseph is a wheelright. The oldest child is Nellie PIERCE, b. 1868 ( my great grandmother ), she married David HADWIN of Shelbyville, Ill. on 15 Apr.1888. She and David had one child, Jay Howard HADWIN, b. 1889. Nellie died at the age of 27 of illness. My grandfather, Jay Howard HADWIN, changed his name to Jay Howard PIERCE after he became an adult.( not sure when) I have no more information on Joseph and Sarah. I don't know where in England he was born or when he came over from England. Sarah was born in Ohio but I don't know where. Her parents were both born in England according to the census but I don't know their names or where in England they were from. Any help would be much appreciated.
