Saluda J. DICKEY or DICKEY married Peter McBride PEARCE in 1862. I believe they lived in the Mifflin, Henderson County, Tennessee until around 1870. They had 2 children: Jerry Newman PEARCE (b 13 May 1863, d 3 October 1930 in N. E. Arkansas) and Richard Haynes PEARCE (b 2 December 1865, d 13 March 1907 in N. E. Arkansas). The family folk lore is that Saluda was a Cherokee Indian and that Peter abandoned Saluda and moved to Arkansas where he married Rebecca Deliah CASE in 1872 had 7 more children.
