    3. Good Evening: I have found out who the William James PIERCE (1868-1910) was that married Mary C. RICHTER (1876-1906), daughter of John C. RICHTER, Sr. (1848-1907) and Alice Elizabeth DANIEL (1854-1924) in 1900. He was the son of James H. PIERCE (1948-1879) and Artilla BEAUCHAMP of Oxford, Lafayette County, MS. This information is from the PIERCE Project. According to this information, the PIERCES were originally from Laurel, Franklin County, IN and James's parents were Harvey PIERCE and Sarah DICKERSON. He descended from the Benjamin PIERCE Family of Scituate, Plymouth County, MA. This Pierce Project information also agrees with my primary source information on this family.... I also feel that Artilla was out of the William BEAUCHAMP family of Worcester County, Md that migrated to Meriwether County, GA by 1838. This is the same family into which Ruth Birney SMITH, daughter of James Emmett SMITH and Grace Lee McCLELLAN, married into. Ruth Birney SMITH married Paul BEAUCHAMP in 1921. Grace McCLELLAN was the daughter of Harriett Ann TATUM and Leander Calvin McCLELLAN and grand daughter of Margaret POTTER and Joseph John TATUM. Margaret was the younger sister of Anne Eliza POTTER who married Charles W. RICHTER, Sr. about 1832. Mary C. RICHTER was the grand daughter of Charles and Anne Eliza POTTER of Madison Morgan County, GA. Grace's sister was Alice Josephine McCLELLAN (1856-1907), the founder of the PTA in 1897. Alice married, first, Alonzo James WHITE, Jr. Esq. (1845-1877) of Charleston, SC and second she married Theodore Weld BIRNEY, Esq. of Chevy Chase, MD. Other information about the PIERCES of Oxford, MS. Edward B. PIERCE, brother of William, was born about 1867 and was the Secretary to the President of the University of Mississippi at some point. We know that by 1910 he as a VP of the Chicago and Rock Island Rail Road. James H. PIERCE had a brother, Edward D. PIERCE born 1850 who was in 1910 "of Hattiesburg, MS." An older sister, Mary D. PIERCE,born 1846 married a Leonidas LANE in 1865 and a Simeon D. TUCKER of Geneva, OH, second. All of these children of Harvey PIERCE and Sarah DICKERSON were born in Laurel, Franklin County, IN. Edward and William PIERCE had a sister, Eula (or Lila) PIERCE born about 1875 who married Dr. Matthew S. DIBRELL, MD of Van Buren, Crawford County, AR before 1900. Artilla PIERCE is living with them in 1910-1920. If you have any information on this family I would appreciate it, especially any connections to a DANIEL, O'DANIEL, DONALD, DONNELL McDANIEL or McDONALD family. Thanks, in advance... John R.
