Hi Folks! Just my opinion... I didn't plan on getting involved, but copying someone's post without their knowledge to another list can cause problems. I've seen it happen a lot. I don't know if it's a copywrite issue or not, but it's just plain rude to copy someone's post from one list and send it on to another list without the permission of the writer. It can cause trouble if the original post is taken out of context due to the "new" audience not being the audience the original post was intended to reach. Does this make sense? :) My own example is a post I sent to a very fun and jokey Genealogy Yahoo Group that I belong to. The discussion was about Ireland, the Irish etc. I made a tongue in cheek comment about the Irish, and someone in the group who thought it was funny innocently sent my comments on to one of the Irish lists at Rootsweb. OY! I am so glad that he didn't mention my name or email address because they did not find the humor in it at all! They were really mad and the resulting unrest on their list continued for weeks! Everyone in the Yahoo Group who knew me, knew that I meant no disrespect and was just joking - but the Irish list folks did not take it that way. Just one little example. -Kat in VA "Archer, Patricia E." wrote: > > If I remember it correctly Duane Pierce (Webb Pierce) got pretty nasty with > the old Pierce list administrator and was barred from the list.
