>From San323@aol.com Nov. 14, 2002 It's been awhile since I put an inquiry on so will try again in hopes someone might know this fella. I'm searching for WILLIAM PIERCE [don't know if he had a middle initial and just have his birth month & year to go by. Our Wm. was the son of James E. & Almeta [Baker] Pierce. He was born in Michigan, north of Grand Rapids, in May 1887. His father workied in the logging industry possibly around Osceola and Muskegon counties, and his mother worked as a servant. William and his only sister Pearl Almeta Pierce lived with their maternal grandmother in 1900. Later Wm. lived with his great uncle Wm. Baker and when he was about sixteen he said he was going to California. Grandma Pearl never mentioned a brother so don't know if she just didn't know where he was or what. She married after he left and she later moved to the sourthern part of the state so he wouldn't have known where she was or her married name. I checked the LDS site and sent to Los Angeles for death record of one Wm. Pierce b. May 1887 but it wasn't our Wm. William's father was a tall slender man with lt. brown hair so he might have looked similiar. Would like to hear from anyone who thinks he sounds familiar. We'd like to know what happened to him. Thanks, Sandy P.
