I just got a letter from my aunt yesterday, and I found out alot of my info was wrong! It happens from time to time. Here's the problem now- the information I got closely matched a line that someone else was looking for- I just can't remember who or where it was! So If you know someone who is researching this line, or you have further information, please email me: m_pierce@direcway.com William Henry Pierce B: May 17,1878-D:Feb 15, 1975 We have conflicting data as to where he was born- his obit stated Winslow, Arkansas, and my grandmother thought he was born in Kentucky. His parents were CB and Martha Ann Pierce. According to his obituary, he was survived by a sister named Myrtle Osborn of California, and preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters (no names given). William Henry Pierce married Lula Mayfield in 1898 at Proctor, Oklahoma, They had the following children: Ulysses Grant Pierce- died in 1965, father of Grant Clayton Pierce. Leonard Mack Pierce-B:4/11/1912 in Fogle, Oklahoma, D: 4/11/1983 in Texas, father of Lois Bowling of Arvin California One daughter of Wllm Henry, Alpha Pierce (married name Todd) Wllm Henry's wife, Lula Mayfield Pierce, died in 1915. He then married Dora Gordon on May 15,1917 in Joplin Missouri. Children as follows: Frances Pierce Duncan-died about 1984 Luia Cleo Pierce- born 5/27/1924 at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, and died 1/5/1987 in Cushing, Oklahoma. Luia was Married to Margaret Courtney, and they had six children. Odell Pierce- born 1926? died two weeks before his sister Frances about 1984. Odell was married to Nadine Troxell, and they had five children. Now, William Henry Pierce died in 1975, and according to his obit, he was preceded in death by three sons, and two daughters, so we are missing at least one daughter, and two sons, as all of the children above but Ulysses Grant Pierce, were still living at the time of William Henry Pierce's death. Also of note: My aunt found a card as follows: To Uncle Henry and Aunt Dora postmarked 1957 from Mr and Mrs Jay Ward and Family there is a full address, but I'll just give city and state Amarillo, Texas. My aunt had no idea who these people- the Wards are. Anyways, that's what I have, so if you know who's searching this family send em my way, or send me their way! Also, wanted thoughts on this: My family thought Wllm Henry was born in the south, in either Kentucky or Arkansas. My thoughts are this: either he wasn't born in the south, or he was born in the south to parents from the north. The reason that I think this is the fact that he named his son Uysses Grant Pierce. And also, because Wllm Henry was born not too long after the civil war ended, at a time when feelings were still running hard! Anyways, does that make sense at all, or do you think I'm barking up the wrong tree?
