Hi All, Some time ago, I ran across the Alden Society at http://www.alden.org. Joining the group requires a documented lineage back to the Alden family. Part of what got my attention is that the society offers a scholarship to children of its members and, since my daughter is about to be off to college, joining made sense. I have sufficient data between John Alden and my James Pearce, the son of Samuel and Betty Simmons. Its Betty's parents that have the trace to the Alden and Richard Warren lines. My JAMES PEARCE was born in Little Compton or Warren, Rhode Island on 10 December 1765. He was in South Mills, Camden County, N.C. by 1790 and married SARAH McBRIDE. They had at least these six children: Poly b 1796, John b. 1800 - d. 1875, Ira b 1805 - d 1876, Samuel b. 1812 - d 1876, Jeremiah Simmons b. 1817 - d. 1869, and Elisha. My problem is good of "Proof data" on James and his children. I have enough data on my Samuel based on the Tennessee census data and so forth. The issue is James in N.C. Thoughts???
