There a child Perry Pearce was born 13 Dec 1846 and died 26 Dec. 1846. Esther Angell Pearce died 30 Dec. 1846 at Burlington. The family stayed in Iowa for some time, coming to Utah, settling in Provo in 1852. During this time after the death of the mother, the father Alonzo let the boy (John?), then in his 13th year, go to live with a family, whether friends or relatives I do not know and as far as I ever know he was never heard from again. Alonzo was md 2nd to Mary Ann Gardner 30 Jan 1846. From brief history recorded in the Quorum Record: Alonzo Pearce son of Perry and Betsey Pearce was born in Beckmantown, Clinton Co N.Y. 20 Oct 1813. Left Beckmantown 16 Nov. 1833 and went to Clarkston, (Clarkson?), Monroe County, New York. Left Clarkson and went to Riga 1856 (probably meant 1836), married 5 Mar 1837 to Esther Angel. Moved to town of Porter, Niagra County, New York. From there to Alleganie County New York 1841. Baptized 21 Nov. 1843 by D.P., moved to Nauvoo May 1844, ordained Elder, in the seventeenth quorum of seventies 19 Jan 1945. Column 12 is marked. Wife is Lucy Pierce, born in Connecticut age 58. Son Nathan Pierce ( I assume born in New York), age 23, column 7 = none, col. 12 is marked, col 13 says "ideotic." Amos Pearce in Moores, Clinton Page 1404 Alonza B. Pierce in Niagra County (Porter) 461 p 1436. Either there are two Perry H. Pierce's (Parce) or he was remarried to Lucy. Lucy show up here in the census reports and also on a Mortgage. It is probably the same Perry because the age of the Perry listed in this census is the same is our Perry. Perry and Lucy are listed here as "Pierce". 4. Genealogical Society of Utah, Group sheet created by Alonzo Pearce. 5. Alice Pearce Swain, LDS Family Group Sheet. Cit. Date: 24 Jan 2001. Familly Group Sheet in possession of Larry Maddocks, 935 Best Ave, SLC UT 84106. Notes on back of group sheet shows Alonzo moving to Riga in 1856, (which should probably mean 1836), and at this time he was married. 6. (1850), film 0803822-3 (or is it 08038223?). Repository: Family History Library, 35 N West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84150 USA, Call Number:974.7 x2pa 1850 V.2. Cit. Pierce in Niagra County (Porter) 461 (Page 1436) --------------------------------- Perry H. Pierce age 74. Married, Farmer, born in Rhode Isle. Column 12 is marked. Wife is Lucy Pierce, born in Connecticut. She is age 58. Shows Nathan Pierce living there, age 23. Born in Ney York. column 7 = none, column 12 is marked, column 13 says "idiotic.". This index to the 1850 Census shows some Parce's, no Perry Parce. Shows Alonza B. Pierce in Niagra County (Porter) 461 (or 46) (Page 1436) Though our previous records show Perry H. Pierce having died in the 1840's, the 1850 cencus seems to show that he was alive and well and age 74, which is consistant with his birthdate. He was taking care of his 23-year-old "idiotic" son, Nathan, at the time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Latimer" <barbaralatimer@yahoo.com> To: <PIERCE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2002 8:20 PM Subject: [PIERCE-L & Variants ] Anna Pierce Rehoboth MA > > I think it is a great idea if everyone tells who they are looking for or what they have. > > Anna Pierce > > b1780 Rehoboth Bristol MA > > married Hosea Horton 9 Nov 1797 > > Died 18 Feb 1840 Rehoboth Bristol MA buried in Peleg Pierce Cemetary in Rehoboth MA > > Father is David Pierce > > Born 11 April 1739 Rehoboth Bristol MA > > I do not know who her mother is?
