Hi All, I just got a card from Margaret Pasteur who lives in Ocala, Florida. For many years, she edited a nice Pearce genealogy Newsletter - back in the pre-Internet days! The card is for a reunion on 27 April between 10:00 and 4:00 at the Lake Butler Community Center, State Road 238. Also, she mentioned that she is about to publish a Pearce Genealogy Book. Margaret can be reached at 4314 S. W. 22 St, in Ocala. Does anyone have an E-mail address for her. Quite some time ago, she commented that she was not on the Internet. Does anyone have any information about Minnie Pierce who lived in Breckinridge county, KY who married a John Powell. Thanks Judy
I am trying to find the origins and parents of George PIERCE born 1824 in Ohio and died in 1911 in Monroe co Iowa. He married Marietta MAJOR in then Mercer co OH (Now Auglaize co OH) in 1848 and went with her family to Monroe co IA in 1849. He was an early settler of both Monroe co and Wapello counties. He had a brother Zachariah PIERCE also born in Ohio. He married Sarah Jane KINDER in 1850 in Wapello co IA. I believe they are related to Mary Ann PIERCE who married David HINKLE in 1836 in Mercer co Ohio. George and Marietta's children lived in Iowa and Nebraska. Their children were Sarah Jane Pierce m 1st Thomas FLETCHER and 2nd Peter DUFFEE (she died in 1910 in Monroe co IA); Jasper Newton Pierce m Tobiatha HAY (he died 1942 in Trenton, NE); Levi Pierce (also living in Neb); Hamilton Pierce m Rachel MAJOR (died in Cornell, NE); Nancy Pierce m George JOHNSON; Majorie Pierce. If you would like to exchange information, please contact me at my email address below. Thanks Pam Shelton-Anderson pshelton@aros.net

I am sorry to say I am not researching your line of Pierces. I have been researching my wife's Pierce family for the last number of years. We have learned that Bonnie's ancestor, Harrison Pierce, was born in Maine and came as a young child to New Brunswick in 1818 with his bothers, Lorenzo Dow and Gilman and his sister, Ann. His other brother, Turner, and maybe other siblings stayed in Maine. We have no idea who their mother and father were. Also, we have no idea why some brothers and sisters came to Canada and others didn't. We are however trying to obtain enough information to give us a detailed history of the Pierce family starting with the first ancestor to come to North America. Bonnie's Pierce line is as follows: Harrison Pierce married Elizabeth Dickson James Turner Pierce married Alice Maud Marley James Harrison Pierce married Grace Evelyn Sayre Ernest Douglas Pierce married Frances Jean Parker Bonita Jean Pierce married Robert James Purdy Do you have any information about our ancestry that you would be willing to share? We would be most happy to share any of our information. If I come across information on your line I will send it to you. Major brick wall somewhere in the Carolina's or Georgia a Jesse Millwood married unknown Pierce. I know they had at least one son William T. Millwood born 10/26/1876. Any help or information greatly appreciated.
This is a re-post of about a year ago. The name Pierce could be any derivation of that name. Benjamin R. Pierce (my ggrandfather) was born in 1811 in Clinton county, NY according to his Civil War records. He married Lydia Sager in Onondaga county, NY in 1829 and moved to somewhere in OH soon after. Their children were: Charles C, 1831,OH; Mary E, 1833,OH; Ralph, 1836, OH; Camelea D, 1842, OH; Sarah A, 1844, OH; Benjamin R, 1847, IN; & Frank E, 1852, IN. They moved to Davis county,IA in the late 1850's where he died in 1876 & was buried in Pierce Cemetery in Floris in Salt Creek Township as was his daughter Sarah. His son Benjamin R. (mygrandfather) also served in the Civil War. Both served in IA regiments. He married Ellen Hill of Athens county, OH and they were married in Davis county, IA in 1868. Their children were: Cora, 1870, IA; Lillian E, 1873, IA; William, 1875, IA; Maude, 1878, NE; Charles E, 1881, NE; Ezra Lucius, 1886, NE; & Benjamin Rollo, 1893, NE. They moved to Springdale, AR shortly after Benjamin's birth. His son Benjamin Rollo (my father) served in the US Navy from 1911-1915. He returned to Springdale and married my mother Kitty C. Brady in 1917 and they soon moved to Larned , KS. Their children were: Virginia L, 1918, KS; Betty Jo, 1923,CO; James B, 1925,CO, Jean & Larry, 1935, CO. I am primarily looking for my ggrandfather's family and do not know anything of his parents or siblings. I am also looking for my mother's family Thomas Washington Brady and Laura Nancy Wesson both born in 1865-1866 either in Kentucky or Tennessee. If anyone has any information or possible connection please e-mail me direct to skyraider@dmea.net. Larry D.Pierce, Colorado
