    1. [PIERCE-L & Variants ] Morgan Pierce b. 1823 MO d. 1885 Lincoln Co.,MO
    2. Archer, Patricia E.
    3. Hi all! Still looking for information on my Great Great Grandpa Morgan Pierce b. 1823 MO d. March 13, 1885 Lincoln Co.,MO. He married Martha Jane Hines on Nov. 1, 1846 in Lincoln Co.,MO. Morgan and Martha's children were: 1.) Matilda b. 1849 MO m. ? (maybe in Arkansas) 2.) John Robert b. 1855 MO m. Chassidy Funk? (a relative says she was told that they resided in St. Charles Co., MO?) 3.) Flora Ann b. 1858 MO d. 1921 MO m. Willis Franklin "Dock" Jamerson Feb. 11,1875 Lincoln County, MO. Ch: Green Montgomery, Lula Jane, John Morgan, Ira Russell (my grandpa), Lenora "Nora" Maybell, James Presley (died 1 yr. old). [Flora & Willis are my Great Grandparents] 4.) M.T. "Bud" b. Apr. 1860 Scott Co.,Ark. m.? d.? 5.) Mary b. c. 1862 m. ________ Smith ? (maybe stayed in Arkansas)d.? 6.) Lydia Francis b. 1867 Scott Co.,Ark. d. 1917 OK m. 1. Bernard Patrick Flanagan Jan. 10,1884 Lincoln Co.,MO 2. Jesse Hamilton (in Ark. or OK) ch.: David Lincoln Hamilton 7. Salvader Theodore "Vade" b. July 24,1871 MO d. May 23,1947 MO m. Rilla Jane Powelson Jeffries ch: Paul Jeffries (step-son), Hattie Leo Florence. 8.) According to my Grandma there was also a daughter named Martha, I would assume she was born between Mary and Lydia if she was at all. But, my grandma didn't mention a Matilda, so this may be the one she called Martha. A distant cousin said that Mary married a Smith, John married a Chassidy Funk, although I've never been able to find them anywhere. I have no idea who Matilda married. I know that Matilda, Mary, and if there was a Martha never married in Lincoln County, MO. Morgan moved his family from Lincoln Co.,MO to Scott Co.,Ark. by 1860, about 1859. He appears on the 1860 census in Scott County, Ark. as follows: (Morgan's name is spelled wrong on this census, it should read Pierce, but the censustaker wrote it as Price) 1860 Scott Co.,Ark. Census page 823 891/886 Price, Morgan 38 M Farmer /$150 MO Price, M.J. 27 F MO (This is Martha Jane, and should be 32 yrs. old) Price, Matilda 10 F MO Price, John 5 M MO Price, F.A. 2 F MO (This is my Great Grandma, Flora Ann, b. 1858 MO) Price, M.T. 6/12 M MO (Born in March, 1860. I believe that this is probably Bud that my Grandma told me of, probably Morgan, Jr. since they called him Bud) (Mary, Lydia, and Vade were not born yet) I have not been able to find Morgan on an 1870 census, but he is in the Lincoln County, MO Tax book for 1870, so maybe showed up after the census was taken there and was missed. Vade was born in Lincoln Co. in July 1871, so I know they were back there by then.) Any help in locating information on the children Matilda, John, "Bud" (I'm assuming his real name was Morgan), Mary, or Martha would be appreciated. I do know that some of the children of these were living in Arkansas as I have three photos of two nieces of my G Grandma Flora's with their husbands and children. The pictures only say nieces of Grandma Jamerson in Arkansas. These can be viewed on the Scott County, Arkansas website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~arscott/scott.htm and scroll down to Unidentified Photos and check them out. There are 4 photos to look at 3 of Grandma Jamerson's nieces and one of baby Troy. Please let me know if you recognize any of them. Morgan had moved his family to Arkansas about 1858. He served in the confederate army in Dawson's 19th out of Scott County, Arkansas 1862. He only served a year. Morgan moved his family back to Missouri by July 1871 as their son Vade was born in MO in that month. Morgan's wife Martha died in about 1872. Morgan died in Lincoln County, MO on March 13,1885. Right now I'm trying to prove whether or not Morgan was the son of William Richard Pierce & his wife Matilda of Linn County, Missouri. If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know. Thanks so much! Patty

    3. Hi, There is a fair amount of data indicating that the Pearce name comes from the Percy name. Some of my books say that Richard Percy made the change in 1500 and that was associated with the founding of Pearce Hall. I haven't run across anything clearly saying where the Pierce spelling came from. Does The Collective have any good information on this?? WWP Linda & Warren Pearce Colorado Springs CO 80919-4821

I also believe the DIBBLE I listed was instead, DIBRELL based upon my research of this counties archives. A General. H. A. 2. John R. Clarke
    3. Good evening, I have somewhat of a mystery concerning the ancestors of William James PIERCE (or PEIRCE 1868-1910) who married my aunt, Mary C. RICHTER (1876-1906) in 1900. I have a copy of his obituary as printed in the "Madisonian," the newspaper of Madison, Morgan County, GA. Here is what I know about him. 1. He grew up in Oxford, MS. 2. He had a brother named the Hon. Edward B. PEIRCE who in 1910 was a VP of the Chicago and Rock Island Railroad and lived in Chicago, IL. 3. He had a sister who lived with his mother in Van Buren, AR in 1900.. 4. His father was dead by 1910 and his mother had married a Mr. DIBBLE and they lived in Van Buren, AR in 1910. 5. He had an uncle named Edward D. PEIRCE who lived in Hattiesburg, MS in 1910. 6. He married my aunt, Mary C. RICHTER in Madison, GA in 1900. She died in 1906 in Godfrey, Morgan County, GA and was buried in the Richter family lot in the Madison City Cemetery. They had no children. . 7. He worked for the S. A. TURNELL Company in Madison, GA as an accountant in 1910. 8. He died in Rochester, MN in 1910 9. His body was returned to Madison, GA by his brother in his private railroad car and was buried with his late wife in the John C. RICHTER Family lot in the Madison City Cemetery. If any of this sounds familiar to you, I would like to hear from you. Thanks, in advance.. John R. 1. [PIERCE-L & Variants ] Peter Pearce and Saluda Dickie
    2. Warren Pearce
    3. Saluda J. DICKEY or DICKEY married Peter McBride PEARCE in 1862. I believe they lived in the Mifflin, Henderson County, Tennessee until around 1870. They had 2 children: Jerry Newman PEARCE (b 13 May 1863, d 3 October 1930 in N. E. Arkansas) and Richard Haynes PEARCE (b 2 December 1865, d 13 March 1907 in N. E. Arkansas). The family folk lore is that Saluda was a Cherokee Indian and that Peter abandoned Saluda and moved to Arkansas where he married Rebecca Deliah CASE in 1872 had 7 more children. Does anyone have any information on Saluda and her relationship to Peter?? I have lots of data on Peter and his family. Warren Pearce Linda & Warren Pearce Colorado Springs CO 80919-4821

    2. David Smith
    3. Dear Karen, Think I have a match. John was the son of William Aaron Pierce and Martha "Patty" Perkins. John was one of nine children: Ruth, Joseph b.1814, William, Malinda, Mary Jane, Minerva, John b. 1801, Aaron b.1814, and Ebenezer b. 1827. Besides your listed children for John and Martha I have Amanda b. 1830. Let me know what you think about the possibility of these being the same folks, and I'll give you what else I have.
