    2. Thanks Brenda for the invite, and I do have missing links in my Pierce line. The furthest back I have is James Pierce, b. abt. 1821, d. abt. 1894 he lived in PA I believe, that is where the rest I have are from. He married a Mary Jane McNaughton, b. 22 Jun 1821, Clarion County, PA, d. 25 Jan 1901, Fisher Twp. Clarion County, PA. They had William Alfred Pierce b. 1855, d. 1927 Henry Alexander Pierce, b. abt. 1860 Joseph Pierce, b. abt. 1864 William Alfred Pierce is my great grandfather, he married an Elizabeth Pearce, b. abt. 1837, d. 1935. BUT according to the 1880 PA census she was born approx. 1817. The birth and death were aquired through someone else. William and Elizabeth had my grandfather William Stanley Pierce, b. 26 Mar 1888, d. Jan 1984. He lived 15860 Sigel, Jefferson County, PA His siblings were: Mame , Mary, Thomas, and Elvie. 1920 PA census places Mame at 33yrs. old. 1880 PA census places Thomas at 4 yrs old, so he must have been born in 1876. Thanks to anyone who will take the time to look. I have of information on many people, but very little to my direct line of Pierce. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? 1. [PIERCE-L & Variants ] George Pierce>Chester County, PA
    2. Barbara Scott
    3. Recently my dear cousin died and left me a box of his genealogy materials that he collected about various branches of our family. I believe this information copied from "The History of Chester County, Pennsylvania with Genealogical And Biographical Sketches" by J. Smith Futhey and Gilbert Cope, published in 1881, would be of interest to this list. PEIRCE, George or Pearce as the name appears to have been written by him), of the parish of Winscom, in the county of Somerset(England), and Ann Gainer of Thornbury , in the county of Gloucester, were married the 1st day of 12th month, commonly called February, 1679. George, with his wife and three young children, emigrated from Bristol, the seaport nearest his residence, in 1684, and the same year had a tract of 490 acres of land surveyed to him in what is now Thornbury township. Thornbury being the name of a district of country from which he obtained his wife, and a desire on his part to keep up the old associations most dear to him, probably suggested the name of the township. He arrived at Philadelphia prior to 9th month 4, 1684, upon which day he presented two certificates to a meeting of Friends held "att the Governor's house." One of these certificates was from "the Monthly Meeting at ffrenshay, in the County of Gloucester." The other was from "Thornbury Meeting." He may have settled on his new purchase in 1865, but his name first appears as an active member of Chichester Friends' Meeting in 1686; shortly after which meetings were sometimes held at his house. Besides being strict in his religious duties he gave a share of his time to civil affairs, and of his means to the improvement of the country. He represented Chester County in the Provincial Assembly in 1706, and was one of a company who erected "the Concord mill," the first mill erected in his neighborhood. He died in East Marlborough about 1734, having removed to that township two years before. The children of George and Ann Pearce were Betty, b. 9, 18, 1680, m. Vincent Caldwell; George , b. 2,23,1682; Joshua, b. 1,5, 1684, d. 9, 15, 1752; Ann, b. 3,8, 1786 [must have transposed the 6 and 8],m. James Gibbons and William Pim; Margaret, b. 4,11, 1689; Mary, b. 10, 25, 1690, m. Joseph Brinton; Caleb, b. 12, 21, 1692,d. 1,22,1679, m. Mary Walter; Gainer, b. 2, 1, 1695, m. Sarah Walter; Hannah, b. 2,21, 1696, m. Edward Brinton; John, b. 2, 15, 1704, d. before 1720. Joshua Peirce married first, 8,28, 1713, Ann Mercer, daughter of Thomas and Mary, of Westtown; second marriage,9,15, 1722 to Rachel daughter of Joseph and Hannah Gilpin of Birmingham. He settled in the eastern part of East Marlborough. The children by the first wife were George, b. 5,5,1714, d. 10,2 1775, m. Lydia Roberts; Mary , b. 3,3 1717, m. William Cloud; Ann, b. 10, 20, 1718, m. Caleb Mendenhall and Adam Redd; by second wife, Joshua, b. 1,22, 1724, m. Ann Baily; Joseph b. 10, 16, 1725, d. 3,9, 1811, a physician; Caleb, b. 12,2, 1727, d. 10,12, 1815; Isaac, m. to Hannah Sellers. From these have descended hundreds, if not thousands, of our citizens. In some branches the name is written Pierce, and by others Peirce, which is thought to be the orthography of the early generations succeeding the immigrant. Barb Scott

He went to AR and has a child by a new wife in AR by 1865. By 1870 T. J. Pierce is in Barry County, MO. Living with him are James M. Pierce, KY, and his wife Catherine Ryan from Indiana and their child Alice Nora Pierce born MO. Jim and Kate migrated to AR, but 1880 census still shows T. J. Pierce living in Barry Co., MO. T. J. had children James, Rachel, John, Catherine. A related surname is Lewellen. Catherine Ryan was orphaned at an early age (perhaps birth), and she grew up in the household of Raleigh (Rawley) Lewellen. Gene Johnson

Don't delete the file http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/ is a very good site managed by a Government Organization where you can always get good information on hoaxes. This is the introduction of what the site has on this hoax The Jdbgmgr Hoax April 2002 The jdbgmgr hoax is almost the same as the sulfnbk hoax in that it tells you to delete a program that was installed with Windows. jdbmgr.exe is the Java Debugger Manager and does have an icon that looks like a Teddy Bear. It is not, normally, a virus. As with all executables, it is not impossible to have a copy of jdbmgr.exe that is infected by a virus but that virus will be detected by your antivirus software WWP Linda & Warren Pearce Colorado Springs CO 80919-4821

    3. BE WARNED! I subscribed for a year, found it minimally useful, and at the end of the year I notified them by email that I did not wish to renew. They replied that I could not stop the automatic renewal by email but had to call their customer service line. I did, and it took several tries over several days and an eventual hour and a half wait on hold, after which they reluctantly agreed to non-renew, but the charge appeared on my credit card bill anyway, and it took several months or emails, phone calls, and a final letter threatening to sue them before they removed the charge. I had a similar bad experience with them re ordering data CDs. A duplicate order arrived and of course was billed in duplicate. They promised to "look into it" and once again after many calls, insistence on talking to a supervisor, and another threatening letter before they credited it back, four months after their shipping-billing "error." To all, This was on one of my other mailing lists. Sorry if it has been posted here already. Shell MyFamily.com, Inc. Announces the Launch of the 1891 Census Online As a result of a meeting between our FFHS Chairman and MyFamily.com Inc, we have been able to obtain a copy of a Press Notice which is being released later this morning (18th September). The following are its main points: Later today, MyFamily.com Inc will announce the launch of the 1891 census online and of a project to make available online indexed, digitised images of census returns for England and Wales from 1841 through to 1891. MyFamily.com has signed a licence agreement with the Public Record Office (PRO) to publish these records. The task involves digitising more than 7 million original census return images and indexing more than 130 million names. As a first step in this process, the 1891 census for Oxfordshire is now available online at http://www.Ancestry.co.uk/ .Visitors are able to search a name index and browse through images of the original census returns, containing information on more than 200,000 individuals living in Oxfordshire in 1891. All of the 1891 Census returns for England and Wales will soon be available, with MyFamily.com publishing additional images weekly throughout the coming months. Upon completion, the collection will be fully indexed, searchable by name, county, and parish, and search results will link directly to images. "We welcome moves to put more of the UK's public records online to reach a wider audience worldwide," said Anne Kilminster, Head of Enterprises at the Public Record Office. "We wish MyFamily.com every success with this project." Note added by the FFHS: Having visited the ancestry.co.uk site, there is currently a 14 day free trial on offer. However, it says "Once your free trial has expired, your subscription will be automatically renewed" and "After your free trial you will be charged just £69.95 for 12 months of unlimited access.". So, if you do take up the offer please make sure you cancel before the end of your free period to avoid your credit card being charged. 2. My Burrell Pearce was b. 1820 and was in the 1860 census in Itawamba,Ms. with his wife Jane. They moved to Arkansas where they had a son, George Henry Pierce, they already had two children born in Ms., a boy John W. and a girl Sarah. In the next census Jane and the children are living with her brother a Massengail. We have lost the paper trail of Burrell. We don't know if he joined the Army or died or what. Jane later moved to Al. with her children and their families. Then in the late 1800's we lost the paper trail for Jane. She was in Elmore county the last census she was on. Can anyone help me?
