I'm trying to find everything I can about Jim PEARCE (born abt 1880), particularly his parents' names. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Everything I know about him and his immediate family is: - Jim PEARCE was once the Deputy Chief Constable of Bucks (so my grandmother tells me.). He lived for a long while in Princes Risborough. - his father PEARCE (est b1857) was a farmer - his siblings included: Annie PEARCE GRAY (est b1881); Ellen (Nellie) PEARCE KEY (est b1883); Fred PEARCE (est b1887, moved to Hamilton, Ont. Canada abt 1910); and Lizzie PEARCE (est b1888, lived and died in Isle of Wight). - the oldest picture of father PEARCE that I have was done by "Hickman Photographer, 18 Broad St. Abingdon" and was taken abt 1875. Regards, Dave in Virginia

Hi; I am writing to appologize to all of the people I promised lookups for on the Roll of Honor. It seems since this occured there has been one thing after another that has kept me from the library. Dr. apts. etc. I'm sorry, but I will be starting extensive testing next week as I have been diagnosed with a malignancy. So will have to put this on hold for awhile longer, but I plan to continue. I just ask that you all keep me in your prayers. Thank you Nita
Jacky, I don't think that we have a connection here; but you may be able to help further -- maybe even find such a connection if there's one to be had... Everything I know about my "PEARCEs" are as follows: - father PEARCE (est b1857) had five (5) children in the Hanwell, Middlesex area: - Jim (est b1880); Annie (est b1881); Ellen (Nellie) (est b1883); Fred (est b1887); Lizzie (est b1888). - these PEARCEs were farmers. - the oldest picture of father PEARCE that I have was done by "Hickman Photographer, 18 Broad St. Abington" and was taken abt 1875. None of the other family picture have photographer names. Any help would be appreciated. Looking for info on Andrew Pierce said to have been born in Bowling Green, KY 1821 and his wife Nancy Fowler b. 1825 in Delaware. James Samuel Pierce was born Jan 27, 1847 in Decatur County, Indiana. He had a brother named John and they are said to be 2 of 13 brothers. Surely there must be Pierce's from this line out there. James had 5 daughters so that Pierce name ended there. Andrew would have been my great great grandfather. Any help would be very appreciated. Harriet Stairs - Hstairs @aol.com

Hi! My name is Mike Stone, and I'm researching my Pierce/Pearce ancestors in Mo. and Tx. My GGGrd fa. was John Pierce of Cooke Co, TX. He had a brother named Wesley, same co. They lived in TX. 1860 to 1890. They are both presumably buried there. Both had large families. I know that there were other Pierce's, possibly brothers, next door in Grayson Co. TX. about the same time. I am sure their entire family was in Jefferson County, MO. about 1835-1855. Before that, census notes in later census records indicate that they were in KY. and TN. I'm sure both John and Wesley Pierce were married in MO.- Franklin and Jeff. counties, resp. Does any of this info. sound familiar to anyone? I could provide much more detail if your group seems to fit. Right now, I'm investigating the possible parents of John Pierce. A likely father was Washigton Pierce of all the same locations/times listed above. Does this seem to fit anyone's tree? Thanks for your help. I have one known and one suspected Indiana Pierce ancestor. The known one was Andrew, born abt 1790/1800 unknown. Per Johnson Co, In history he walked to Johnson Co from Pittsburg about 1820. He married in 1825 in Johnson Co to an Elizabeth Graves (who per family legend was the Deleware Indiana guide that lead him there). He died and left a Will in Hendricks County, In by May 1833 which named his widow and children. Matilda was his daughter and my gg grandmother. The suspected Pierce is the Wife and Widow of Benjamin Bailey. Benjamin Bailey married Anna Pierce May 13, 1803 in Wilkes Co, NC and then moved to Adair Co, KY where he died in 1819. Anna and her children then moved to Morgan Co, In along with several interrated families. Morgan, Johnson and Hendricks are all adjacent. She is suspected since I have never proven that my Anna Bailey was Anna Pierce. Eventually Matilda (after her first husband died) married Allison Bailey (son of Anna and Benjamine) afer his first wife died. Allison and family moved to Crawford Co, Il about 1860 and lived near Pierceburg, Il. Does this ring any bells out there? Anybody know about this tx George F Pierce?? http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/view/PP/hrpzq.html PIERCES CHAPEL, TEXAS. Pierces (Pierce's) Chapel is on Farm Road 747 fourteen miles northwest of Rusk in western Cherokee County. The community grew up around a Methodist church named for Bishop George F. Pierce, who preached there during the 1860s on his way to the annual state conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. An early school was established in the church, and a separate schoolhouse was later built nearby. In 1896 the local one-teacher school had an enrollment of forty-seven. During the mid-1930s the community comprised the school, a church, and a number of houses. The school was later closed, but in the 1980s there were still two churches and a store in the area.
