One of our Pierce-L readers (Thanks Pam) sent me the following links for virus checking, also Macafee and Microft also have sites for checking virus. Please don't send these to the list unless you receive an email from someone that has a virus attached. It uses lots of bandwidth to keep the mailing lists going and RW has asked that they not be sent. Please read the netiquette rules if you are not aware of them for mailing lists at http://www.rootsweb.com/~pierces/ -- Mailing List - Netiquette. Also, I was not able to upload any corrections to the site, so we are stuck until new parts are added. Thanks. Brenda http://kumite.com/myths/ http://www.Europe.Datafellows.com/hoaxes/catcolon.htm
I apologize to those 100+ of you that since Saturday are again having problems accessing the site, has had server problems and somehow has managed to comeback up with an old backup, the sites are a mess, all of those of you that stated that Saturday everything was once again working is correct, but now I will have to reload all of those files, I apologize, but there is not much else I can do at this point until the server is totally backup and functional and I can see if they reload the new or if the old stays, if the old stays then I have alot of work reuploading and deciphering what changed and didn't.
The oldest Pierce that I have is Thomas born 1809 in Massachusetts. In 1850 he was living in Beverly, MA. He married Hannah Loring, March 14, 1839. I believe he was married to Joanna Kent first. Children were, Stephen Mosery 1836, Joanna K. 1838, Thomas L. 1841, Ezra L. 1843, George W. 1845, Jesse L. 1848. Stephen Mosery Pierce married Abbie Eliza (or Eliza Abbie) Perkins of Topsfield in 1863. Stephen was a mariner and shoemaker. He fought in the Battle of the Wilderness. Their children were Lewis Elmer 1864, Thomas Justin 1867, Nettie Gertrude 1868, Willie Francis 1870, Harlan Stephen 1876, Florence Annah 1880, Thomas Allen 1882. They resided in Topsfield, MA. Lewis Elmer Pierce married Mazora Imogene Towne in 1889. They had Archer Lewis, born 1892. Archer Lewis Pierce married Lucy Brown of Ipswich, MA . They had Richard 1923 & David 1927. Richard is my father in law, he remembers his grandmother (Mazora) taking him down to the wharf in Salem, Ma to look at ships when he was very young. She told him that his gr. gr. gr. gr. ? grandfather Pierce came to Salem on the Arbella. Also in the 1850 census there was a William Pierce who was 77 years old living in Beverly, could he be the father to Thomas? I plan on making a trip down to Beverly soon, just don't know how much information I need or what to look for. I really just began this a couple of weeks ago. Anyone out there know of this line? Thanks for your help, Brenda
I'll keep posting just in case someone from this line joins the fold. Andrew Pierce, b. 1821 in Kentucky, possibly Bowling Green, Warren Co. married Nancy Fowler who may have been from Kentucky or Delaware. The moved into Indiana and son James Samuel Pierce was born Decatur Co., Indiana Jan 27, 1847. James had 5 daughters: Daisy, Effie, Myrtle, Minnie and Nina. There were 13 children total in Andrew Pierce family, 2 other brothers named John and James. I do not know where Andrew and Nancy died, are buried, etc. Anyone with link to Andrew, or to any one of the 13 children, please respond. Thanks!

Following is my PIERCE line back to New York, as far as I know. For years I have posted queries and searched records trying to locate information on the last known PIERCE and wife. Unfortunately, no one seems to have a connection. I really need some help. Solomon Terry PIERCE born 23 Dec. 1821 in NY (county unknown). Married Catherine PETERY, by 1843 in NY. She was born 17 Sept. 1828, Little Falls, Herkimer Co., NY. Children: James Irwin PIERCE born 1843 NY, died 1861. Isadora Mariah PIERCE born 1848 in Fulton Co., IL, died 1905, m. Frank THOMPSON. John Solomon PIERCE born 1854 Fulton Co., IL, died 1909, m. Amanda CHINN. William PIERCE born 1856 IL, died 1861. Reuben Irwin PIERCE born 1857 IL, d. 9 Jan. 1918, CA, m. Cassia M. WALKER. Charles Edward PIERCE born 4 Dec. 1858 St. Louis, MO, d. 10 Sept. 1940 CA, m. Virginia ALEXANDER. Albert J. PIERCE born 1863, IA, d. 1929, m. Lottie ALDRICH 1885. Solomon referred to himself as DR. I did find a Solomon PIERCE who went to a medical school in NY; I do not know if it is him. This family settled in Yolo Co., CA after making the trek west. My descendancy is through Charles Edward PIERCE. In the CA census Solomon PIERCE states his father was born in ME or MA, not readable. As many PIERCES were in both states and there were several Solomons and Reubens, one of his son's name, I feel there must be a connection. Need to locate a PIERCE who migrated from ME or MA to NY prior to Solomon's birth 1821. Also, the middle name TERRY is also a possible clue and connection to a TERRY in NY. Hope springs eternal and mine is that someone will come up with some information for me. Many thanks. Revae PIERCE, PETERY, PETRY
Re: Hugh PIERCE I do not have anything further on Hugh PIERCE....but I, too, am very interested in knowing his parents and siblings. My information on Hugh PIERCE originally came from Wanda Blair RUBY, I believe. I don't think she has beyond Hugh at this point either but maybe there has been a recent acquisition of information by her or someone else. Looking forward to seeing a new posting regarding that info soon. Bellinda
Do you know Hughs sibling or parents? I am looking for someone in Frederick Cty area. Looking for John Pierce born between 1760-1817 in Va m. Eliza Steele on 8/18/1833 child Thomas A. Pierce 4/14/1847/46? in Augusta Cty Va moved to Meigs County Ohio Brenda Wells Adams
The oldest and sadly the ONLY Pierce I have is my 2nd great grandmother: Jessie Rodman PIERCE, born 1856, Kentucky. Wife of Nathaniel WILSON, (1850-1930). Child: Robert Pierce Wilson, born July 15, 1882, Fairfield, Illinois, died 1922, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. I do not have any other information on Jessie Rodman Pierce and would appreciate locating any information on her parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. Thanks! Caron Withers Snyder
Hi everyone.... I'd like to thank everyone who offered so many suggestions on how to trace my unknown Pierce/Caldwell connection. It seems that I have not one connection, but two...a pair Caldwell ?brothers married two Pierce sisters, and floated all around the greater Boston area. My oldest Pierce line follows. Savage stated that John was in Charlestown in 1652, but F. B. Pierce in "Thomas Pierce" presents a pretty creditable argument for why this simply isn't so. 1 John Pierce b: abt. 1615 d: Bef. Dec 1673 Kittery, York, ME +Ellinor d: Jan 1675/76 Kittery, York, ME 2 Sarah Pierce b: Bef. 1647 of Kittery, York, ME d: Bef. 1697 +George Jones m: Bef. 1672 Father: George JONES Mother: MARY *2nd Husband of Sarah Pierce: +Hubertus Mattoon m: Jun 1673 Father: Mother: *3rd Husband of Sarah Pierce: +Henry Seavey b: ca 1660 Rye, Rockingham, NH m: Bef. 28 Feb 1682/83 d: 1691 Sandy Beach, Rockingham, NH Father: Thomas SEAVEY Mother: THOMASINE 3 Joseph Sr. Seavey b: ca 1681 Rye, Rockingham, NH +Hannah Pierce 2 Joseph Pierce d: Bef. 29 Mar 1676 Kittery, York, ME 2 John Pierce b: Kittery, York, ME d: Aft. 19 Jul 1669 2 Mary Pierce b: Kittery, York, ME If anyone has ANYTHING at all on this line, I'd love to hear from them. Please note that Joseph3 Seavey, Sr. is married to a Hannah Pierce. Any ideas on whom Hannah might be? Thanks for your help, Barbara Hanscom Stuart
