    1. [PIERCE-L] re: Melvina Pearce
    2. Someone posted a search on information on Melvina Pearce recently. I knew I had seen the name and just found it. Robert Daniel Pearce and wife, Leah Bartlett, had a daughter named Melvina, born 1794. She was probably born in Blount County, TN and moved w/ the family to Logan County, Kentucky. There is more information on this family on some of the Bartlett homepages through rootsweb.com. Hope this helps. Angela Pierce Groenhout searching: ancestors of Daniel Pearce, b. ca1746 d. ca1832 McMinn Co., TN > family possibly lived in Montgomery/Wythe County, VA and Frederick County, VA prior to settlement in TN. Thanks.

    1. [PIERCE-L] Irish Pierce
    2. Hi, I am looking for any connection with other Irish Pierce family members. I reviewed the names on the Irish Pierce website and could not make a connection. My information is limited. My grandmother Mary E. Pierce was born in Oswego, Illinois to John and Mary Pierce who came over from Ireland. They had 6 children. My grandmother died in 1927 and the family lost touch with the Pierce side of the family. I know that my grandmother Mary Pierce married my grandfather Daniel Mahoney in 1915. It was Mary's second marriage. Her first husband Mr Wartenberg died leaving her with two children Howard and Elvera. Please pass on any insight. Thanks, Melissa

    1. [PIERCE-L] The wonderful Pierce / Pearce / Peirce / Pearse Names
    2. Over the last five years plus I have found that I am researching two different lines of Peirce names... both Paternal and Maternal. It has helped having my sister focus on the maternal. I am still hunting out.. the Paternal.. I am not searching for -- Ephriam Pearce (Pierce / Peirce) who died in 1829 Ralls County MO. wife was Mariah (Maria). Children James Samuel (1826), Parthena and Lucretia. Both girls married Mills. James married Mary Elizabeth Fagan in 1857 The will I located showed the name Earl Pierce in Quincy - - in regards to money ... It appears that the county pulled together and donated funds to help this mother of three young children and built a small home and helped them over the following years. I have not been able to find information on Ephriam and I am unable to locate a death date for Mariah (Maria). Anyone with ideas? I found some information on marriage licenses, the will, the 1850 census -- I am still trying to locate more information to make connections. Lorrie

    1. [PIERCE-L] Ohio Pierce's
    2. Jim Shreve Sr.
    3. Good morning all, I've just started piecing together some pieces to my genealogical puzzle. I am posting it to the list in hopes that someone may be able to help me fill in some gaps. The bulk of my information is coming from my grandparents bible, unless otherwise noted. Unfortunately they did not have any birthdates or death dates. They did have all the siblings. If anyone can help me fill in the gaps I'd appreciate it. My grandfathers hails from the Toledo/Sandusky area of Ohio if I recall correctly. 1> Joshua Pierce married Martha Caskey. Together they had 5 children. Andrew C, David, Clarence, Sherman, & Hannah. I have found a reference to a Joshua Pierce online at the following webpage. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohpauldi/d5pldg.htm It mentions a death of 10-19-1900 at 64 years of age in Paulding County, Ohio. It also mentions being born in Knox County, though there is no current Knox County in Ohio. ,This death would fit in the timeframe. I've tried emailing the contact on the page for further info, but it was returned with user unknown. 2> Andrew C Pierce married Emma Anderson, daughter of Jeb Anderson. Together they had several children. John Sherman, Earl, William, Allese, Maud, Ruth, Stella, & illegible female name. I, via online searching at the Western Reserve Historical Society, found an Andrew C Pierce who died 3-29-1935 in Paulding County. The certificate id # is 1932. This would also fit into the timeframe. As of yet I have no physical verification of either of these pieces of information. However this Andrew C Pierce was the only one that turned up in my search. It actually led me to the Joshua link above however, since I had a specific area to search in. Course I could be completely wrong, 3> John Sherman Pierce (d. 9-12-1959 Ohio) married Myrtle Carpenter (d. 2-4-1958), daughter of Harvey Carpenter & Mariah Richardson. They have, to my knowledge, at least 3 children(John, Garold Franklin, & Gladys) 4> Garold Franklin Pierce (b. 6-16-1924 Ohio) married (m. 7-20-1946) Anna Marie Holbrook (b. 12-15-1928), daughter of Bowman Frank Holbrook(b. 8-16-1896 d. 3-3-1978) & Mary G. Loomis(b. 8-6-1906 d. 7-26-1963). a> Anna Marie Shreve(b. 11-7-1947, Plymouth Township, Ohio) my mother b> Garold (b. 9-17-1949, Plymouth Township, Ohio) c> Harold (b. 4-1-1950, Plymouth Township, Ohio) d> Glenn (b. 4-1-1967, , Plymouth Township, Ohio) e> Robin Lynn (b. 6-25-1969, Plymouth Township, Ohio) LMA Jim Shreve Sr.
