He is buried in the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Sec F Div 1 Grave 68. On 7 June 1845 he married NANCY BOZE in Dayton, Montgomery Co OH. The couple had 6 children: Mary Ellen, Sarah Ann, David L, Isaac Ivan, Samuel Elias, Stephen Wesley. Solomon Piatt was the son of JOHN PIATT and REBECCA _____? This couple was in the Montgomery Co OH census for 1820. Little further is known of this couple. A county history mentioning some of their sons states that the couple would have had ties to Rockingham and/or Rockbridge Co VA. However, research there and in Augusta Co VA has revealed little more and nothing as yet to establish the link to New Jersey and to Rene Piatt, a link which is strongly suspected.
