Greetings, All, Taking a longshot, and getting away from PIAT/ PYATT as a surname, my 4th great grandpa was Pyatt MARTIN, named after his grandmother, Dinah PYATT/ Jacob/ Rene. In your "searches," if you ever find mention of this Pyatt, I'd be MOST happy to hear. Pyatt MARTIN Born prob. 8 Oct, near Piscataway, Middlesex Co NJ Died 22 Jul 1828, Marion Co OH, bur Pleasant-Liberty Cem, ae 53 Married circa 1798/1800, prob in OH or NJ to: Anna HOAGLAND (HOAG??), said to be d/o James & Martha (HOOEY) Born circa 1775-80, prob NJ Died circa 1843, prob Pleasant twp, Marion Co OH Pyatt moved from NJ to Warren twp., Jefferson Co OH, with his parents, Jacob & Elizabeth (DUNHAM) MARTIN, prob. during the early 1790s. No known military service. A family story says that after Pyatt's death, his wife Anna and another woman, both with a child on their laps, traveled by horseback to NJ to settle up some of Pyatt's affairs there. I'm curious as to what "affairs" might have remained in NJ. Primary proof seems difficult to find, with the exception of a few Census schedules, and Pyatt's tombstone. Will be especially interested in sources of any data found. Best wishes to all, Caral
