Yes, I sent a brief reply to Twood email I believe on 4/5/01. As most of you know I am still in my winter home in Florida without my records and therefore cannot reply in definite terms. But, from memory, I will relate what I know until I can get a name for you of the then present owner of Federal Hall. Back in the late 1970s or very early 1980s Joe Kearney made several attempts to get into Federal Hall, succeeding on the second try. He was then greeted by the owner who politely threw him off the property and threatened him with a lawsuit. I have the property owners name and can supply it if anyone is interested after I get home. The plaque was stolen, an award offered and it turned up after the reward was paid and returned to the gravesite. It was promptly stolen again, the same $100.00 award offered and promptly "found" and returned. The plaque was not returned to the cemetery as Joe Kearney and I were in the process of possibly removing the remains back to NJ with his mother. Some years later, I donated this plaque to the owner of the "Benjamin Piatt House" in West Liberty, Ohio where the Piatt Castles are located. It was understood by me that it was to go on display there. Yes, Laverne, without my records I believe your descriptive location is correct. The road back to the cemetery was closed many years ago and therefore the cemetery is on the original Jacob Piatt property, without access, as far as I know. Dick Piatt
