Ok sleuths! Here is some information that I posted to the St Louis County, MO, mailing list about a Martin/Piant connection that I was hoping was really 'Piatt'. Do any of these names sound familiar to you Martin/Piatt researchers? Peter Piant b: c1769 Surname: Piant, Martin, Hildebrand, Whitley, McClure, Piatt, Pyeatt, Pyatt Does anyone know if Peter PIANT is the correct abstract of a name from St Louis County 1852? I am hoping that this is really PIATT as I am studying PIATT/PYATT/PYEATT/etc extensively in Missouri and especially in adjoining Jefferson County. The record on which this name appears is as a witness in the pension application of the widow of Adam MARTIN, Mary. He swore that he had known Adam and his wife for sixty years and that Adam died in 1835 and Mary in 1850. The Martin's heirs were: Lewis Martin; David Martin; Mary HILDERBRAND; Elizabeth WHITLEY; Jonathan Martin & Robert Martin. It was sworn before James McCLURE JP. PIATT/HILDEBRAND/McCLURE are all in my line. I am hoping that I can find some connection to this Peter - that he is in fact a PIATT. Can anyone tell me if Peter PIANT is the right name for this man? _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/
