Thank you Laverne for your response regarding William Piatt and John Nelson Piatt. I have compared the information to what few documents I have and my husband's sketchy recall. John Nelson Piatt's death certificate lists his date of birth as September 26, 1850. Information provided by one of his sons. John's tombstone lists his birth as 1846. There is a GAR marker at John's gravesite. John Nelson and Tacey Jane (she used her middle name) had 10 children. First child William (Bill) J. born May 1880 in WV. All other children were born in Ohio. Child 5: Thomas Lester named his first daughter "Ella". This is bout clear as med to me. Thanks for any help. I am going to continue looking.
