Marianne and Listers-- This Pyeatt spelling I have seen on the Dawes Roll or the Guion Miller Roll (displaced Cherokees) many years ago. I never followed up on the name because at the time I didn't think it was a connection to my direct line and I had no earthly idea how to research native americans. I can tell you too that most of the West Virginia Pyatt's are P-y Pyatts and sometimes census takers spelled it Pyeatt because that's the way it sounds pye--att Just my random thoughts, Robin Marianne Pyeatt wrote: > I received today the death certificate of William D(udley) Pyeatt who died > March 4, 1912 in Plattin Twp, Jefferson Co, MO. I received today the death certificate of William D(udley) Pyeatt who died March 4, 1912 in Plattin Twp, Jefferson Co, MO. His date and place of birth are given as Feb 4, 1831 and St. Louis, Mo. His father's name and place of birth are given as Jacob Pyeatt and St. Louis, Mo. (both 'fit' other information). His mother's maiden name and place of birth are given as Olive Juki or Juke' or Julie or Julic and St. Louis, Mo. (our information is Olivia McClure, d/o Andrew, born Kentucky). The informant is Diana Pyeatt of Plattin, MO (his widow) Burial in Charter Cemetery. Undertaker is T S Byrd. So, is this 'Julic/Juke' name a middle name or surname? Do any of the possible spelling looks familiar to anyone in Jefferson County or the various Pyeatt/Piatt lines? Does anyone in Jefferson County know anything about T S Byrd? One of William and Diana's sons was named Washington Byrd Pyeatt and I've always thought that it was due to a family connection. This could be a brother-in-law, nephew, etc. Finally! Some new clues!! She m. Charles Price in Adams Co, date unknown. I know this is sketchy, but it's all I have. If anyone happens to have any info on Nora or Charles, I'd much appreciate it. J.
I am a little confused regarding the data on the back of the picture of Charlotte Piatt. I have the following data - William Whitson Aldrick was married to Mary J. Whitson, the daughter of James H. Whitson and his wife Catharine PIATT, daughter of John and Mary (Foresman) PIATT. Charlotte Piatt was born ca1885 or after, and if correct one a daughter of Herman Piatt, born 1863. Charlotte's brother Brady J. Piatt was born 1883 married to Blanche. Charlotte would only be about 10 years old and doubtful to be a graduate at that time 1895. Herman's brother was William B. Piatt. Whoever has data on this, could you correct me if I have the wrong Charlotte? Richard Piatt, PA.

Concerning entries on the Pittsburgh Gazette, if this is the same book or series of, as mentioned on e-bay, checking the references for DYOTT might yield some information, too. DYOTT was listed in the original posting of surnames in the e-bay book. Thanks. -- Laverne Ingram Piatt Ontario, OH

Suzie, I would love to have any of the Piatt info that you might find. Thanks, Christi Telep
Suzanne, would you check on the information that is available on Piatt. I'm looking for David and Hannah Jackson Piatt who lived in Pottsville at least from 1825 - 1832. Also Joseph Paxton Piatt, their son, born in 1825 in Pottsville? Thank you very much. Liz Branstead, Atlanta

I know that there are lots of them that have questions on their McCann families that lived in that area. If there would be anything on a Lanty/Leanty and Margaret McCann around the year of 1789, I would sure like to have a copy of it. Thank you so much. Nancy Bray

Hello All, The following book is up for auction at Ebay. I got a 'hit' on it when I put in 'genealogy and Piatt'. Do you think this might be something one of us should consider bidding on? I've already been bidding on too many others to consider it at this point. Or, do any of you have access (or have abstracted from) this book? I'll try to creat a link to the auction, otherwise, the text is below: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1624372034 West Pennsylvania Genealogy #5 Item # 1624372034 The People and Times of Western Pennsylvania Pittsburg Gazette Abstracts 1817 1820 Volume 5 compiled and edited by Clara E. Hi everyone...twice today I have gotten this message (described in header) this is a virus that has been going around for some time. It's not a particularly dangerous virus but it attaches itself to a new message in everyone in your message list. If you get it just delete it and then if you have other message box entitled "deleted items" make sure you delete it there too. DO NOT OPEN IT or it is too late and you have already forwarded it on. Thanks! Amanda Cincinnati, OH
