I am trying to find the maiden name of a lady named "Charlotte", who was married in Philadelphia 13 May 1844, by the Rev Asher Moore. The husband was Dr. William H. Gominger who practiced medicine in Philadelphia. His Civil War pension application file states the exact date of the marriage, where and by whom, but leaves out her maiden name. (She herself was already dead by that time, and her death record doesn't list the maiden name). The couple's four children were all born and died in Philadelphia but the records do not include the mother's maiden name. I have done a little search on the Rev. Moore & find that he was indeed in Philadelphia in this time frame, a part of the Universalist Church. He served a church in Trenton NJ for a brief time after that and appears in Mercer County NJ in the 1850 census. Since Charlotte was born in New Jersey, according to the various census where she appears, and since Dr. Gominger had relatives who migrated to Bordentown NJ in the mid 1840's, I really would like to learn her maiden name, just in case she is connected to any New Jersey families with which I am familiar. Can anyone steer me to an archive or other repository of this particular denomination in Philadelphia, where the marriage might be recorded? Nancy
