There is no difference currently in the focus of discussion on the two lists. Both cover Philadelphia City/County which as you have already been told are synonymous. As for current subscribership--PAPHILAD currently has 437 subscribers and PHILLY-ROOTS has 444 -- so the two lists are virtually equal in the number of subscribers. As for the number of posts over the current year, PHILLY-ROOTS has had about twice as many posts thus far this year (1155 vs. 454 for PAPHILAD). Some posts are duplicated on both lists and many of the subscribers/posters belong to both lists. Both lists are publicly archived and both have helpful volunteers who are able to answer many questions asked on the lists--so, take your pick, or post to both.
