    3. Well I was looking for a name between mid 1918 and mid 1919 and didn't find a list. So I spent a lot of time in the library looking at the obits. And - didn't find what I was looking for. -----Original Message----- From: philly-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:philly-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John W. 3. A few years ago someone sent a link in that had this information available. I searched for my grandfather's name. I don't have the link any more since it was on my old system that had a meltdown. Perhaps someone else will remember this link and be able to send it. Good luck! 3. Hi Jack, I am not old enough to remember the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 but I remember my Dad and Mom telling stories about it in Anaconda, Montana. My Dad's first cousin, Tony Solan from Tullinahoo, Swinford, County Mayo died from it shortly after he arrived in the U.S. from Ireland. They had quarantine signs in the windows of those who were ill. My Mom was about 7 at the time and she said if they saw a quantine sign they ran quickly to the other side of the street and kept running. I can't say regarding Pennsylvania records but I have my cousin Tony Solan's death certificate and it does not list Spanish Flu or the influenza. It lists pneumonia. Many of those who died from the influenza died from complications such as pneumonia. The death toll world wide was approximately 40 million people. More soldiers in WWI died from the influenza than they did from war related wounds. What amazes me is that in the history books here in my area of California don't even mention the Spanish Flu Pandemic. 2. Though this doesn't have death notices specifically identified as a result of the Spanish Flu, there are quite a number of notices for the months of October and November 1918. Maybe this will provide you with what you wanted? http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/philadelphia/ (See the Obituaries/Death Notices - Newspaper Notices 1900-1922 section near the bottom of the page.) -----Original Message----- From: jwcrose@bellsouth.net To: PHILLY-ROOTS@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, 20 Apr 2007 8:42 AM Subject: [Phly-Rts] Spanish Flu Hi Cousins : Does anyone know if there is a list of people who died of the Spanish Flu?
