    2. Elkton was still the place to go in the 60's. There was no waiting period between application for the license and the actual marriage. In Philadelphia, it was three days and you had to have blood tests. That age requirement was still in effect in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Lots of people eloped to Elkton, MD. I had two aunts do that in the late 40's and mid 50's. By the way, when I married in 1964, in Florida, I needed my parents permission as I was 20 at the time. How times have changed.
